My master's thesis focuses on developing computational frameworks to evaluate batch-to-batch variability in single-cell RNA-seq data:
- Developed scBatch, a Python package integrating seven metrics for batch variability assessment, gaining end-to-end experience in software architecture, error handling, and user-oriented implementation.
- Created the entropy-based Batch Mixing Index (BMI) to quantify per-cell neighbourhood mixing with statistical testing, translating methodological gaps into implementable solutions.
- Applied the foundation model UCE to embed cell therapy batches into a shared latent space for variability assessment.

Bioinformatics Research Assistant

I worked in the Isoform Analysis Group for two years, which has been a transformative experience. I grew from a student focused mainly on theory into a bioinformatician working on real-world problems:
- Development and Maintenance: Contributed to the IsoformSwitchAnalyzeR R package, sharpening coding skills and building a can-do mindset for unfamiliar tools.
- Pipeline Development: Built optimised pipelines for large-scale data analysis with automation, quality control, HPC processing, and Git version control.
- Team Collaboration: Supported PhD students, postdocs, and master's students with data preprocessing and pipeline execution.
